What Do Guests Say About Sail Istria
FAQ
Popular Questions
Are Sail Istria's Poreč sailing tours suitable for beginners?
What sailing tours do you offer from Poreč?
We offer four main sailing experiences from Marina Parentium in Poreč:
- Half-Day Poreč Sailing Tour (4 hours) — sail through the Vrsar archipelago, swim and snorkel in hidden coves
- Poreč Sunset Sailing Tour (3 hours) — golden-hour cruise with a real chance of spotting wild dolphins
- Full-Day Poreč Sailing Tour (8 hours, private only) — your boat, your day, exploring Vrsar islands and the Lim fjord
- Grand Poreč Sailing Tour (11 hours) — the flagship route through Vrsar, Lim fjord, and Rovinj, ending with a sunset sail home
We also offer a one-day sailing course for guests who want to learn the basics of sailing from a certified skipper.
Where do your Poreč sailing tours depart from?
Our tours depart from Marina Parentium, located in the Zelena Laguna resort area, about 3 km south of Poreč old town. The exact address is Zelena Laguna 5, 52440 Poreč. The meeting point is in front of the Reception building.
If you’re staying in Poreč centre, a tourist train runs regularly between the old town and Zelena Laguna during the season, with tickets from around €2 to €4. We can also arrange a private transfer (see below).
How do I get from Poreč old town to Marina Parentium?
You have several options:
- Tourist train — regular service between Poreč centre and Zelena Laguna during the summer season (~€2–4 per person)
- Taxi — around 5–10 minutes from Poreč old town
- Walking or cycling — the coastal promenade from Poreč to Zelena Laguna takes about 30–45 minutes on foot or 10 minutes by bike
- Private transfer — we can arrange this for you on request from Poreč, Vrsar, Funtana, or Tar-Vabriga (transfer price is not included in the tour price)
We’ll always contact you before your tour to confirm the easiest option based on where you’re staying.
Can children join the Poreč sailing tours?
Yes, children are welcome on all our daily Poreč Sailing Tours, including the Half-Day, Sunset, Full-Day, and Grand Poreč routes. The boat is safe and comfortable for families, and our skipper makes sure everyone has a great time on board.
For our one-day sailing course, the minimum age is 15, since the course involves active learning and handling the boat.
Will we see dolphins on the sunset tour?
What's the difference between the Full-Day Tour and the Grand Poreč Tour?
Both are full-day experiences, but they prioritize different things:
- Full-Day Poreč Sailing Tour (private only, 8 hours) — flexibility and privacy. Your boat, your call. The standard route covers the Vrsar archipelago and Lim fjord, but you can swap Rovinj for more swimming, more sailing, or a longer lunch ashore. Perfect for groups who want to design their day with the skipper.
- Grand Poreč Sailing Tour (11 hours) — completeness. The flagship full-itinerary day covering all the iconic stops: Vrsar archipelago → Lim fjord → Rovinj walking break → sunset sail back to Poreč. Ideal for guests who want to see everything in one day.
If you’re not sure which fits you better, contact us — we’ll help you choose.
Is food included on the sailing tours?
Yes. We serve drinks on the Half-Day and Sunset tours, and drinks plus tapas on the Full-Day and Grand Poreč tours, so no one is hungry on board.
For the longer tours, we also stop ashore for an optional, more relaxed meal — either at one of the restaurants inside the Lim fjord (famous for its fresh oysters, mussels, and local fish) or in Rovinj old town. Lunch ashore is paid separately, and you choose what you’d like on the day. We think it’s the best way to taste real Istrian food, with no rushed meal on a moving boat.
What is included in the Poreč sailing tours?
All our Poreč Sailing Tours and private charters include:
- Licensed local skipper
- Fuel
- Drinks (water, soft drinks, local wine and beer)
- GoPro camera (so you can capture every moment)
- Stand Up Paddleboard (SUP)
- Snorkeling equipment
- JBL bluetooth speaker
Specific tours may include extras (like tapas on the longer tours). Always check the individual tour page or contact us for full details.
Can I book a private sailing charter from Poreč for a group or special occasion?

Our Bavaria 36 cruiser hosts up to 8 guests in comfort. Contact us with your group size, date, and any special requests, and we’ll customize an itinerary just for you.
